Privacy Policy
Last updated 26 October 2026
Lazy Scaping (lazyscaping.app) is a free, fan-made Old School RuneScape planner run by an individual. This policy explains what information the site collects, why, and how you can delete it. In short: we only collect what the planner needs, we don't show ads, and we never sell your data.
Information we collect
When you look up a player. The RuneScape name you enter is sent to our server, which asks Jagex's official OSRS hiscores for that player's public stats. Results are kept in server memory for about 10 minutes to avoid repeat requests, and aren't stored in a database.
On your device. The planner saves your ticked gear, training unlocks and last looked-up RuneScape name in your browser's local storage, so they're there next time. This stays on your device unless you sign in. Plan settings (like the skill or boss you picked) also appear in the page address so plans can be shared.
If you create an account. Accounts are optional and are handled by our sign-in provider, Clerk. We receive:
- Your email address.
- If you sign in with Discord or Google, the basic profile details that service shares: your name or username, email address, profile picture and account ID. We never see your Discord or Google password, and we don't get access to your messages, servers, contacts or files.
- Your saved planner data (ticked gear, training unlocks, and your RuneScape name and account type), stored with your account so it's available on any device.
Analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn't use cookies, and it doesn't identify you or track you across other websites. It records the page visited, the referring site, your approximate location (country, region or city), browser, operating system and device type. Visitors are recognised only by a temporary hash that's discarded after 24 hours. We remove your RuneScape name and owned gear from page addresses before anything is sent to analytics.
Server logs. Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes basic request information such as IP address and browser type to run and protect the site.
How we use it
- To show your stats and build training and gear plans.
- To keep your saved data in sync across your devices when you're signed in.
- To keep the site secure and working, and to understand which features are used.
We don't sell or rent your information, use it for advertising, or share it except as described below.
Services we rely on
- Vercel: hosting, domain and analytics.
- Clerk: accounts, sign-in and storing your saved planner data.
- Discord and Google: only if you choose to sign in with them.
- Jagex: receives the RuneScape names you look up, through its public hiscores.
- The OSRS Wiki: provides item prices. No personal information is sent to it.
These providers may process information in the United States and other countries.
Cookies and local storage
We only use cookies that are needed for signing in. Clerk sets them to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. The planner also uses your browser's local storage, as described above.
How long we keep it
- Account details and saved planner data: until you delete your account.
- Data on your device: until you clear your browser's site data.
- Hiscores lookups: about 10 minutes, in server memory only.
Your choices
- You can use the whole planner without an account.
- Delete your account at any time: sign in, open your profile menu (top right), choose Manage account, then delete your account. This removes your account and saved planner data.
- If you signed in with Discord, you can also remove Lazy Scaping under User Settings → Authorized Apps in Discord.
- To see, correct or delete the data we hold about you, or for any privacy question, email contact@lazyscaping.app. Depending on where you live, you may have extra legal rights over your data, and we'll honour them.
Children
Lazy Scaping is not intended for anyone under 13, which matches the minimum age for Old School RuneScape and Discord. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and account data is stored with Clerk. No online service is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes we'll make a reasonable effort to let signed-in players know.
